As part of the League’s partnership with the State government to spotlight regional housing models and strengthen state/community foundation partnerships, we’re excited to share a unique learning opportunity for members.
A California delegation for the Vienna Social Housing Field Study is happening September 21–27, 2025. Led by the Global Policy Leadership Academy (GPLA), this international experience brings together cross-sector leaders from state and local government to philanthropy and community development for an in-depth exploration of Vienna’s globally recognized model of social housing. LCCF is helping to curate a community foundation cohort as part of the delegation.
To help you learn more, we invite you to an informational Zoom session for LCCF members with Anu Natarajan, Managing Director of GPLA’s Global Housing Practice. Anu will provide an overview of the field study and answer any questions about what to expect.

The Vienna Social Housing Field Study is an opportunity to learn alongside peers, engage directly with international housing experts, and return with insights to inform your foundation’s regional strategy. As community foundations expand their role in convening and advancing housing solutions, this delegation offers a valuable moment to align as a field, deepen relationships with state leaders, and draw inspiration from one of the world’s most effective, climate-forward affordable housing systems. We hope you’ll join us to learn more about this opportunity and explore how your community foundation can help shape the next chapter of statewide housing leadership.
