Careers at Community Foundations
Community foundations are 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charities. They are place-based grantmaking institutions, and they also lead community initiatives, build the capacity of local nonprofits, and advocate for the needs of their communities.
California is home to dozens of independent local community foundations that collectively serve the neighborhoods where 99% of Californians live.
Every community foundation is unique – some are volunteer-run while others employ up to 100 staff across many job functions: grantmaking, operations, programs, finance, communications, HR, public policy, IT, and more.
