GivingTuesday is a global giving movement to ‘unleash the power of radical generosity around the world.’ Launched in 2012, the movement has mobilized billions in small-dollar giving and millions of acts of generosity.

The global GivingTuesday network collaborates year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life.

In the US over 100 community foundations lead local GivingTuesday “community campaigns”.  Each community foundation uses GivingTuesday in different ways. Overall, communities with an organized GivingTuesday communitiy campaign raise 90% more than those without one. Recently these community foundations came together to produce a deck and guide workbook to share tips and lessons learned.

As League member foundation know, there are so many other outcomes from leading a community giving campaign: increased awareness and community trust; nonprofit capacity building and fundraising for unrestricted community dollars; and regional affiliate engagement.
