Overview:
Community foundations operate in a complex environment. Our assets are rapidly increasing, we are responding to ever- growing community leadership voids and challenges, and our field is under increased scrutiny from governments, regulators and donors.
To help you navigate these, and other, complexities, the League is proud to offer a one-day, virtual Community Foundations 101 course designed for staff and board members with less than five years of experience.
Led by experienced leaders with over 40 years of community foundation CEO and governance experience, this course will equip you with the essential knowledge and skills for career success. You will learn foundational basics and best practices in community foundation operations, governance, asset development, community leadership, marketing, grantmaking and stakeholder engagement.
The course will provide ample opportunity for facilitated sharing, peer learning and dialogue. Along the way, you will also begin building a support network that will help you throughout your community foundation career.
The lead trainer for this session is Mike Batchelor, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Foundations and former President of the Erie Community Foundation.
