Community Giving Stories: Inland Empire

Explore the local impact of donor-advisors at the Inland Empire Community Foundation

New Opportunities for Students

In 2009 a donor advisor established a fund at Inland Empire Community Foundation to support programs that deliver leadership training and opportunities for deaf students. The fund has granted more than $25,000 to students attending the School for the Deaf in Riverside or living within Riverside County. The same donor-advisor was inspired to start a second fund in 2018 to support literacy programs in the community.

Building Impact Over Time

A donor advisor started a fund at IECF in 2006 with $80,000. Today that fund has granted $162,000 as the donor advisor has worked with IECF’s expert staff to find new giving opportunities. Another donor opened a fund in 1999 with $90,000 and has since given more than $130,000 in grants to nonprofits throughout the Inland Empire community.
