If you’re considering attending the 2016 Connecting for Good event on Thursday, April 28, 2016, please purchase your tickets soon – this event will likely sell out again! (Event Flyer)

The 2016 Connecting for Good event features a full-day Innovation Action Lab, led by Dave Viotti & Smallify. (PDF Bios) You will be challenged to prototype solutions to any community or organizational challenges you bring to table, and you’ll walk away with an actionable plan to put into play immediately. Viotti’s team will  help us answer the ‘how?’ of innovation – so be ready to roll up your sleeves for a full day of learning AND doing!

  • Thanks to funding from the Prime Shine & Porges Family Foundation, up to four groups will also have the chance to spend a half-day with Viotti/Smallify in May and June to fine-tune their work. The application will be available immediately following the event.
  • Also, we’re excited to confirm that Lenny Mendonca, Turlock native and former senior partner with McKinsey & Co, will be a keynote speaker again this year. Attached is Lenny’s bio.

March 2016 National Standards update

March 2016 National Standards update

  • The process is taking longer than anticipated, and Lara Kalwinski is now reviewing applications that were submitted last October.
  • Christina Gonzalez, a lawyer, will begin on April 4 to help Lara.
  • The clock on National Standards yearly accreditation does not begin until a community foundation’s first online accreditation is complete.
  • If a National Standards application is in process and the accreditation date passes, the community foundation is automatically put into extension.
  • If a community foundation cannot find their name on the cfstandards.org locator, they can contact submissions@cfstandards.org

The key point is that a community foundation that was certified for national standards is still on national standards while the recertification process is underway.

Please feel free to contact Lara directly if you have any questions on this issue.  Lara Kalwinski <Lara.Kalwinski@cof.org>
